It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our Web page, the main "shop window" of DEIMOS Space.
DEIMOS Space is a young Spanish aerospace company, born out of the vision and enthusiasm of a group of professionals in the space sector. Subsequently, ELECNOR became the majority shareholder, converting DEIMOS Space into a subsidiary of this large industrial group.
These pages describe the specializations of the teams that make up DEIMOS Space. We are sure that within them you will find the profiles and experience that make DEIMOS Space a solid reference in Europe in our areas of activity.
 DEIMOS Space has always emphasized the benefits to be gained from transferring technology between the space sector and the rest of industry. The integration of DEIMOS Space in the industrial group ELECNOR, present in areas such as energy, telecommunications, transport and the environment, guarantees the success of this bi-directional flow of technology.
 A high degree of specialization and the flexibility to adapt to the needs of our customers are among the fundamental characteristics of DEIMOS Space. This, combined with the stability and solid foundations that come from being integrated in a large industrial group, make DEIMOS Space a trusted and reliable partner for high-tech projects.
Having successfully come through the challenging first years since we began operations, today DEIMOS is a benchmark in Europe in its business areas within the space sector. DEIMOS Space has won a large number of contracts in all of ESA’s main centres (ESTEC, ESOC, ESRIN, ESAC, ...), is engaged in projects with the largest and most important European space companies (EADS Astrium, Alcatel Alenia Space, etc.), and has even succeeded in diversifying towards non-institutional customers (Eutelsat) and other high technology sectors, such as Civil Air Navigation (Eurocontrol). This has led, in only five years, to a ten-fold increase in the number of engineers employed, reaching a workforce of over 230 people, including the new DEIMOS Space subsidiaries
 In January 2003, the subsidiary DEIMOS Engenharia (DME) was created, located in Lisbon, Portugal. DME represents a bold step taken by all the members of DEIMOS towards the creation of a multinational group where we can show our skills, cooperating with the development of the emergent Portuguese space industry.
 In June 2005, DEIMOS Aplicaciones Tecnológicas (DAT), started up business operations at the Boecillo Technology Park in Valladolid. DAT provides software products, research and development services as well as engineering and high-tech consultancy services within the Telecom, Energy, Defence, Transport, Environment, Aeronautics and Aerospace fields.
The most recent addition to the group is DEIMOS Imaging (DMI), which is also based in the Boecillo Technology Park since July 2006. DMI aims at offering products based on satellite-captured information for use in Earth Observation applications. One of the most notable aspects of DMI is the vertical integration of the production chain which includes its own capture capability (DEIMOS’s satellite will be launched soon) as well as a Remote Sensing lab boasting a high R&D&I capacity.
I would like to conclude by highlighting that DEIMOS Space was officially awarded ISO 9001 certification in December 2005. Bureau Veritas Quality International, one of the most widely recognized independent Certification Bodies in the world, granted the certificate under the Spanish and British accreditation schemes. This crucial milestone is intended to confirm to our customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers and the society at large that DEIMOS Space provides efficient, cost-effective and valuable products and services.
