Future Mission Studies
Future Studies is the programmatic branch of Advanced Projects and it is devoted to follow the evolution of the different space programmes to identify innovative technological developments required by the sector needs and its application to actual missions together with the expertise available in the company.
Currently, DEIMOS Space plays an outstanding role at European level, providing support to System Integrators in different programmes with responsibility in the fields of Mission Analysis for many different scenarios and Flight Mechanics applied to re-entry vehicles. This support is articulated by taking profit of the knowledge developed in the technological areas of Advanced Projects (GNSS technologies, Mission Analysis and Simulation and Control).
Space Mission Design, being involved in several Pre-Phase A and Phase-A studies. As an example DEIMOS has led the study for a NEO mission, and participated in several System studies for Earth Observation, Science and Planetary Exploration missions (SPECTRA, EarthCARE, Sentinel-3, GMES Architecture Studies, SMART-2, EXOMARS, AREV, Sphynx, DARWIN, SOLO, Bepi Colombo, Don Quijote NEO Mission, PROBA3, CSTRS).
DEIMOS expertise in this field covers mission and orbit design, performance analysis, launch and orbit acquisition strategies, space segment deployment, orbit control and maintenance, de-orbiting and end-of-life strategies, encompassing single- and multi-satellite systems. These analysis capabilities are enabled by the use of dedicated DEIMOS in-house assets and tools for mission analysis and simulation.
